2012 Swimming
The boys and girls in Years 3-6 had an anxious wait this week for the announcement of the Champion House at this year's Swimming Carnival. All was revealed to the students on Wednesday via unusual means - the colour of Ms Lockery's nail polish. Bright blue, metallic enamel declared PATERSON the 2012 Champions.
It was hot, hot, hot!!!! Our carnival at Manly Pool attracted many spectators and participants. Thanks to all the girls and boys who entered and swam their best. Despite a few timing glitches the day ran smoothly and a good time was had by all.
Our 5/6CL student reporters continue:
On the 24th of February LEPS had our Swimming Carnival. The new house captains had their lollies and cheers ready and the houses were loud. It started with the 100 metre freestyle with Patterson and Kendall grabbing the early points. Then it went like a blur, cheering and racing with many splashing into the pool. All the captains lost their voices. Suddenly, an enormous cheer erupted into everyone's ears as they learned that Paterson had retained their title once again. Some were sad, but many were glad and they had all had a really fun day. By Ronan K
On the 24th of February, the 3-6 had the annual swimming carnival. It took place at Manly Swimming Pool. The children enjoyed cheering for their houses Paterson, Kendall, Mackellar and Lawson. Most of the children swam but those who weren‘t confident could go in the 25m race. Even if they didn‘t swim they still enjoyed cheering for their house, the captains rewarded people cheering. On the 24th February the LEPS 3-6 Swimming Carnival took place at the Manly Swim Centre because West Pymble was being renovated. Luckily the weather was nice which resulted in everyone having a lovely, organised day. The teachers and parents did a fantastic job organising and keeping all the events under control. The day kicked off with the amazing 100m freestyle events with all the captains leading the cheers and encouraging their houses. All the students should be proud of their efforts. Tori A
2011 Swimming
Congratulations to PATERSON — the winning house for 2011. Congratulations also to everyone who participated in our carnival – I believe that we had approximately a 90% participation rate which was wonderful. All students are to be commended for their enthusiasm in entering the carnival and for cheering along their house competitors. Thanks go to Miss Rose and Miss Stanton for their exceptional organisation of the day; to our parent helpers who assisted with timekeeping and catering and to the teachers for acting as officials on the day. The Zone carnival will be on Thursday 10 March and information for Zone competitors will be issued shortly.

Congratulations to all students who put in a great effort and showed great sportsmanship in representing LEPS. Seven students competed in the Area Carnival at Homebush on Wednesday 16 March 2011.
Many thanks to Miss Rose and Mrs Russell who assisted with the organisation of our Zone Team and acted as officials on the day. Thank you also to Ms Leahy, Mrs Tucker, Mrs Hurley and Mr Sims our four team managers who did a fantastic job in organising and supporting the students to achieve great success.
