This video is the result of a proposal devised by Lindfield East Public School, NSW, students who have been investigating energy usage at school and developing their understanding and knowledge of climate change. Climate Clever is an Action Learning Project run in consultation with the Department of School Education and the CSIRO and provides funding for student devised energy saving proposals.
Thursday 21 July 2011 saw classes 6CD, 6MH, 6MA and 5MM participate in the Climate Clever Expo. Climate Clever is an Action Learning Project run in consultation with by the Department of School Education and the CSIRO. Lindfield East was chosen to take part in the program in 2011, due to its current sustainability initiatives. Four stage 3 classes have been investigating energy usage at LEPS, and continued to develop their understanding and knowledge of climate change with a series of hands on experiences.
Throughout the day children rotated through a series of activities and action learning tasks in order to present their proposals to Mr Stevenson. Proposals to reduce energy usage at school can attract funding of up to $2000 per project. Thank you to Mrs Tuckerman, Mrs Hill and Ms Marquet for their organisation of this worthwhile initiative.
