LEPS String Ensemble offers students from Years 3 to 6 valuable opportunities to experience playing string instruments in a group. All LEPS primary students who have played violin, viola, cello or double bass for 12 months are invited to join.
LEPS String Ensemble was formed in 2008 and currently includes around ten students. The Ensemble is conducted by Ms Angela Cassar who is a professional violinist, conductor and teacher. Since graduating from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music Performance (Hons) in 2001, she has performed and recorded with many of Sydney's top musicians, including Sydney Philharmonia Orchestra, Fox Sudios Soundtrack Orchestra, and many of the leading string quartets around Sydney. In addition, Angela is Principal 2nd Violin of Willoughby Symphony Orchestra. Her extensive teaching experience includes holding the position as Head of Strings K-12 at Moriah College from 2002 - 2007. Angela has a busy private studio, and is in demand as a string tutor and adjudicator at Sydney's top schools. Angela is delighted to be commencing as conductor of the String Ensemble at East Lindfield Public School.
The ensemble is coordinated by parent volunteers under the LEPS P&C umbrella.
