Anglican SRE has been a part of LEPS since the school began. Our Scripture classes give students the opportunity to gain an understanding of basic Christian beliefs, to think about ethical issues from a Christian viewpoint, and to consider the relevance of faith to their lives. At present we run 13 classes covering all ages from Kindergarten to Year 6. Children also attend a special church service at St Peter's Anglican church (next to the school) to celebrate Easter, Education Week and Christmas. Anglican Scripture is very well received by both students and staff.
The materials used in Anglican SRE are written by Christian Education Publications, and are designed to be ‘academically rigorous, Biblically based and contemporary. This means that we incorporate best teaching practices, teach the Scriptures as the best way to understand God and ourselves, and use up-to-date materials and methods. All teachers in our program take part in ongoing training, including Child-Protection Training.
