Visit from Olympian Steve Solomon

Former LEPS student and 400m Olympic track athlete Steve Solomon revisited his primary school at the invitation of School Captain Samantha G last week.

Following a tour of the school by the student leadership team, Steve answered a range of questions at the 3 – 6 assembly in an interview conducted by Samantha and Adam C. Steve reminisced about his days at LEPS, recalling that when he was here there was only one interactive whiteboard in the whole school! He informed students that, although he had always loved sport, he didn't start to shine in athletics until he was in Year 5. Steve also imparted a very useful piece of advice; do what you can do and don't worry about what you can't do.

Judging by the long line of students seeking his autograph after his assembly presentation, it seems that his outlook and achievements made a strong impression on our students.
