LEPS students once again achieved some outstanding results in the Maths Olympiad this year.
This prestigious competition tests students' problem-solving skills, with solutions to some diabolically difficult problems having to be found in a short space of time. Many LEPS students were placed in the top 25% and top 10% in Australasia, but special mention goes to Jodie C and Matthew W whose final results saw them placed in the top 2% of students who attempted the Olympiad. Even more impressive is the fact that all students answer the same questions. Matthew W gained 24 out of a possible 25 questions, which meant he got the highest mark at LEPS….and he's still only in Year 4!
Well done, Matthew, and well done also all your fellow mathematicians.
