The University of Kanazawa in Ishikawa, Japan sent Professor Tsukasa Orikawa and Mr Hideo Hana (Language Teacher) to study LEPS this week to research literacy in an Australian school setting. The study tour coordinated by LEPS parent, Shig Watanabe has opened further links with international partners that can share quality pedagogy. The Professor's expertise and interest in the teaching and learning of literacy saw him enthusiastically visiting our K – 6 classrooms, STLA, ESL, Science and Mandarin programs. Our teachers were able to showcase their strong classroom practise and also ask questions of the current approaches to teaching in the Japanese system.
