BBC Bitesize - The UK version of ABC Splash, has resources and interactives from primary and secondary.

ABC Education - interactive activities and games.

The School Magazine for 3-6 - A collection of plays, poems, stories and comics. This is not the full catalogue, but samples are available.

The Literacy Shed for K-6 - Range of free reading materials.

Scholastic Kids Press for Years 3-6. A group of children reporters, from across the USA and around the world. The young journalists report "news for kids, by kids," covering politics, entertainment, the environment, sports, and more in their hometowns.

Maths Resources and Links

Red dragonfly mathematics challenge for Years 5 and 6. Provides a range of challenges to be solved in five to ten minutes that develop mathematical reasoning.

ABC Splash-Mathematics for K-10. ABC Splash has resources across all KLAs. This links to their mathematics resources which can be searched by key word and filtered by grade.

reSolve - Maths by Inquiry for K-1 O. It is a collaboration of the Australian Academy of Science and the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers. The tasks and materials on reSolve promote fluency, deep understanding, strategic problem solving, and mathematical reasoning through enquiry.

NRICH for K-12. NRICH provides thousands of free online mathematics resources for ages 3 to 18, covering all stages of early years, primary and secondary school education with a focus on developing mathematical thinking md problem-solving skills (University of Cambridge).

youcubed for K-12. Jo Boaler and her team at Stanford University provide esearch-based teaching methods, maths tasks, videos, and ideas for extending thinking and inspiring teachers and students.

Learning packages for parents

Learning packages contain explicit teaching activities with self-guided videos to complement the learning program provided by your child’s school or teacher. Remember the program provided by your child’s school or class teacher is the priority learning program for your child.

Accessing Books

Unfortunately, no books can be borrowed from our school library. Here are a few alternatives: Amazon has just announced that their Audible books are now free while this COVID-19 situation continues. There is also Project Gutenberg which offers mainly classic children’s books for free. This can be found at https://www.gutenberg.org/
